As if it were a premonition, when Catherine Martin, of Madrid Boutique Properties, found this apartment located in a 1920 building in the Salamanca district, she knew she should buy it.
The origins. Despite its small size, with only 68 m2 built, the house had an exterior treasure: a terrace of more than 32 m2 with southwest orientation. However, being compartmentalized in small rooms, the interior was dark.

Let's do it. With the support of Ana Rodríguez Mendez and Antonia Salvá Llompart, from the A&A Arquitectos studio, they conceived a new design distributed in two rooms, a bathroom, and a dining room with kitchen open concept.Velvet furniture, such as the sofa, is from Menzzo. Project protagonists. The main key to the reform was to give the terrace and interiors the same prominence, making the first one a useful space throughout the year.
To achieve this, Catherine installed a charming dining room under a white awning, thinking of the warm summer days; and on the other side, a corner chill out with model chairs Acapulco Sklum, a wooden trunk as a side table, and lots of plants that add freshness to the environment.

Inside the house, they had to throw the partitions and remove the corridor to get the light to invade every corner.The lamps are the Barometer model of IKEA, and the marble bedside tables of Zara Home.
