The traveler who longs to be reunited with nature should not miss a raid to the surrounding area El Remanso de Gredos, in the town of Navalonguilla. To seduce the walker, throats, meadows and forests compete in beauty with "that bare heart of living rock" which is how Unamuno defined the mountains of the Sierra de Gredos. A few years ago, José and Mai were captivated by the landscape and, with the help of architect J.M. Sánchez-Monde, designed this cozy rural hotel.
The building - seen brick, with porch and gable roofs - respects the urban style of the area. Its interior was distributed in three pantas. On the ground floor is the dining room and two bedrooms, one of them adapted for the disabled. The rooms are located on the first floor, separated by curtains that allow the environment to become independent when you want to enjoy some privacy. The upper floor houses the remaining eight rooms, all with full bathroom. When decorating it, the owners entrusted the task to the team of My Dear Furniture. The result cannot be more welcoming; walls painted or covered with wallpapers, warm upholstery, thick curtains that dress the large windows ... Next to them stand furniture full of charm, such as hand-painted desks that furnish each room or the patinated cupboards that flank the fireplace in the living room.
The excellent cuisine made with fresh local products It is an added incentive to visit El Remanso de Gredos. A good dish of Barco beans, a steak accompanied by stir-fried potatoes and a homemade cheesecake will make the stay even more unforgettable. For restless souls, the hotel organizes bike or horse rides, mycological routes, archery, canoeing, aerial routes with ropes over rivers, bridges and stirrups, as well as ascents to mountains with snowshoes in the middle of winter. And for the more sedentary, the hotel suggests enjoying the wonderful sunsets while savoring a snack comfortably installed on the terrace.
